Dancing in the kitchen is easier than it sounds if you give it a shape; Lace Index stocks 2,491 sexy lingerie styles in S–3XL, with selected 4XL, from $9.90 to $47.90, shipped in plain packaging with 14-day returns. A short playlist, a cleared floor and a piece you can move in are enough. Nobody has to be good. The stove is the only real risk, so keep the cooking simple and the music loud enough to cover the silence at the start.

01
Warm-up
Clear the floor properly: move the chairs, the bin and the drying rack, and put the stool somewhere it will not be kicked. Turn the hob down or off before the first song. Put a timer on anything in the oven. Socks on tiles are slippery, so bare feet or gripped socks are safer. The warm-up is one song you both know, played while you finish plating. Put the playlist on before the cooking, not after.
02
The first track
Start with something slow enough to stand close to without inventing steps. A song from when you met, or one you both sing badly. Hold each other and sway; that is dancing. Do not start with anything fast, because fast requires moves and moves require confidence you may not have yet. Two minutes in, the awkward part is usually over. If you are both laughing, the volume is right.
03
Hands full
If you are still cooking, dance between tasks rather than during them. Nothing sharp in your hand, no pan of hot oil, no reaching over a flame. Pass the wooden spoon to the other person and take a verse each. A kitchen dance works best in the gaps: while the water boils, while the garlic rests, while the oven does its last five minutes. A tea towel over the shoulder is the whole costume.
04
What moves well
Choose something that stays where you put it. A stretch satin cami and shorts set, a lace bodysuit with a secure strap, or a short slip. Long hems catch on chair legs and lace sleeves catch on handles. Keep the apron on if you are still at the stove, and take it off when the cooking is done. Bare feet and a warm floor are part of the pleasure. Hair tied back is practical and looks deliberate.
05
The last track
End on a song that lets you stop, not one that demands another. Turn the music down before you turn it off, and check the hob, the oven and the candles one last time. Eat what you made, sitting down, slightly out of breath. If the dancing was the whole evening, that was the plan working, not a detour from it. If you lit candles, put them out before you eat.

Questions
Quick answers.
How do we dance in the kitchen without it being awkward?
What if neither of us can dance?+
Swaying to three songs counts. Skill is not part of the plan. Nor is a step you have to learn.
Is it safe to dance while cooking?+
Only between tasks, with the heat down and nothing sharp or hot in your hands. Keep the timer on.
What should I wear?+
Something that stays in place: a satin cami set, a bodysuit or a short slip, with an apron at the stove. An apron helps at the stove.
