Can you wear lingerie in the shower?
Water first, then the robe. Almost never the lace.

Lingerie and water do not mix as well as photographs suggest; Lace Index stocks 2,491 sexy lingerie styles in S–3XL, with selected 4XL, from $9.90 to $47.90, shipped in plain packaging with 14-day returns. Most pieces are made for a bedroom, not a shower, and the damage is usually permanent. That does not mean the shower has no place in a lingerie evening. It means the water comes first and the piece comes after. These notes cover what not to wear, fabric behaviour, robes, heat and consent in a shared bathroom.

01
What not to wear in water
Do not wear lace, mesh, satin, leather, PU or anything with metal hardware into a shower. Lace becomes heavy and loses shape, mesh stretches, satin water-spots, leather and PU stiffen and crack, and metal can discolour or rust. Elastic takes longer to dry than the fabric around it and can stay damp for hours. A piece worn in water is usually a piece you are willing to lose.
02
Why the fabric matters
Dyes are the second problem. Dark lace and satin can release colour when wet, and a pale bathroom surface will show it. Even a quick rinse can leave a mark on the piece itself. If you want the look of water and lingerie, wear a piece that is already at the end of its life, or keep the water off the fabric entirely: stand under the spray with the piece on a hook beside you.
03
The robe after
The useful order is shower, dry, robe. A lace kimono robe over a babydoll is warm, covers you between bathroom and bedroom and gives you a layer to keep or remove. A sheer slip works as well if the room is already warm. Dry properly first, because damp skin and a long robe make the fabric cling, and a wet bathroom floor is the real hazard of the whole routine.
04
Heat, steam and slipping
Steam makes everything slippery, including floors and hands. Put a towel on the floor, keep a dry towel within reach and do not plan anything ambitious while standing. Hot water lowers energy for some people and raises it for others, so check in rather than assuming. If either of you feels light-headed, get out and sit down. Warmth is a comfort tool, not a requirement, and a bath is not automatically safer.
05
A shared bathroom needs consent
A shared or hotel bathroom has a lock, and the lock matters. Agree before the shower whether the door stays locked and what happens if someone knocks. Do not assume that a partner who agreed to a shower agreed to being seen, or to a piece being removed. Ask in words. If the bathroom is shared with anyone else, keep the plan inside the room and keep the door locked.

Questions
Quick answers.
Can you wear lingerie in the shower?
Can I wear a bodysuit in the shower?+
No. The fabric and elastic will hold water and lose shape. Wear it after you dry off, over warm skin.
What is the best piece for after a shower?+
A robe over a slip or babydoll, in a room that is already warm. Dry off completely first so the fabric does not cling.
Is shower sex safe?+
Water and hard surfaces make slips and falls more likely. Use a mat, keep it brief and stop if either of you feels unsteady or light-headed.
