Resort evenings are a negotiation with heat; Lace Index stocks 2,491 sexy lingerie styles in S–3XL, with selected 4XL, from $9.90 to $47.90, shipped in plain packaging with 14-day returns. Everything you packed in a cold bedroom behaves differently at thirty degrees, and the piece that looked good in the mirror can feel wrong by dinner. 01
What heat does
Heat makes elastics tired and skin sensitive. Anything with tight straps, heavy hardware or a high synthetic content will feel worse at nine in the evening than it did at noon. Choose loose over tight, mesh over moulded, and light colours over black if you plan to sit outside. When two pieces are close, pick the one whose fabric will dry overnight. The piece should move air, not hold it.
02
Cotton and mesh
A sheer slip in a light colour is the most reliable resort piece: it packs to nothing, dries overnight and looks deliberate with bare shoulders. The plus-size sheer nightdress works the same way. A light colour also feels cooler against the skin than black does. Pack the slip in the middle of the case, away from the zip. Avoid anything with a rigid boning channel for travel; it creases in a suitcase and digs into a waist after a long dinner.
03
The evening slip
Dinner at a resort is usually warmer than expected. Wear the slip under a linen shirt until the sun is down, then decide. Take a photograph before you go down; the light at six is better than at ten. The asymmetric slip is a good compromise: one shoulder, no hardware, and enough shape to feel dressed. If you are walking to a bar, take a light layer. If you are staying on the terrace, you will not need it.
04
Salt and sun cream
Sun cream marks fabric, and salt dries lace into a stiff shape. Shower before you change, and keep the piece away from the beach bag. A cotton wrap or a robe over a damp swimsuit is fine; lace next to salt is not. Keep a plastic bag in the beach tote for wet things. If you have been in the sea, rinse the piece in cool fresh water that evening and hang it in the shade.
05
The packing cube
Roll, do not fold, and put each piece in its own cloth pouch. A cube keeps lingerie away from sun cream, sand and wet towels. A dryer sheet in the pouch keeps the suitcase smell out. Take two pieces for a week, not five; you will wear the one that feels cool. Leave space for something you buy there. The best resort outfit is usually the one that weighs nothing.

Questions
Quick answers.
What lingerie should I pack for a beach resort?
What lingerie is best for hot weather?+
Light colours, mesh or cotton, and no rigid hardware. Airflow matters more than structure in a warm room.
How many pieces should I pack for a week?+
Two. You will rewear the cool one and ignore the rest, and that is how packing should work.
Can lace survive a beach holiday?+
Yes, if it stays out of the sun, salt and sand, and is rinsed in cool water that same evening.
