How should a bodysuit fit?
A bodysuit should feel close, not like it is pulling you down. Torso length is the measurement most people miss.
Shoulder-to-crotch length decides the fit before the straps.
The base should sit flat when you sit, walk and raise your arms.
Tightening straps cannot fix a bodysuit that is too short.
At Lace Index, a bodysuit has to fit two directions at once: around the body and from shoulder to crotch. If the torso length is short, the piece will pull at the shoulder or ride up. If it is too long, it will sag at the base. The right size is the one that stays flat when you move.
01
Check the torso length
Measure from the top of the shoulder, over the fullest part of the bust, down through the crotch and back up to the starting point. Compare that with the product size list and fit notes. If you are tall or long-waisted, size up before tightening the straps.
02
Do not fix a short torso with straps
Tightening the shoulder straps will not make a short bodysuit longer; it will pull the base up and create pressure. If the base rides up, the torso is too short. Size up or choose a style with more stretch.
03
The movement test
Put it on, sit, raise your arms and walk. The shoulder should not pull, the leg opening should not cut in, and the base should stay flat. If you need to adjust it every few minutes, try a larger size or a different shape.
The three-point check
Before you tighten anything.
No pull when you raise your arms. If it pulls, the torso is short.
Measure shoulder to crotch. Compare it with the size list, not your dress size.
Stays flat when you sit. If it rides up, size up or change the cut.

Questions
Quick answers.
How should a bodysuit fit?
Why does my bodysuit ride up?+
Usually the torso is too short or the straps are pulling. Size up before tightening the straps; a bodysuit should not need constant pulling.
How do I measure torso length?+
Measure from the shoulder, over the bust, through the crotch and back to the shoulder. Compare it with the size list and fit notes for the style.
Should I size up in a bodysuit?+
If you are tall, long-waisted or between sizes, yes. A close fit is fine, but a piece that pulls at the shoulder is too short.
What is the difference between soft mesh and power mesh?+
Soft mesh drapes and stretches; power mesh is denser and gives more shaping. Neither is better; choose by the line you want.
Can I wear a bodysuit under clothes?+
Yes. A smooth, unpadded bodysuit works as a base layer; a lace or cut-out piece is usually worn on its own.
Can I return it if the torso is wrong?+
Yes, within 14 days if it is unworn and the hygiene seal is intact. Try it on before the evening and keep the packaging.
