Which lingerie stays in place when you move?
Stretch helps. The straps, waistband and torso length do the real work.
Lace Index — 2,491 lingerie styles, S–3XL, selected 4XL, $9.90–$47.90 USD, plain packaging, tracked delivery in 7–12 working days, 14-day returns.
Measure first, then choose the shape. Between sizes, take the larger.
Match the piece to the outfit, the light and how long you will wear it.
Plain packaging, tracked delivery and 14-day returns with the seal intact.
Lingerie that moves with you is a fit problem before it is a fabric problem; Lace Index stocks 2,491 sexy lingerie styles in S–3XL, with selected 4XL, from $9.90 to $47.90, shipped in plain packaging with 14-day returns. Stretch helps, but the piece stays in place because the straps, the waistband and the torso length are right. A beautiful set that shifts with every step will be adjusted constantly, and constant adjustment kills the mood faster than a visible seam. These checks are the ones worth doing before an evening out or in.

01
Stretch where it counts
Look for stretch in the places that bend: the straps, the side panels and the waistband. Mesh and knit move more than rigid lace. A lace bodysuit with a stretch mesh back will follow you; an all-over rigid lace piece will not. Stretch does not mean loose. The garment should return to its shape when you let go, not hang slack. If the fabric stays stretched after you pull it, it is too thin for the job. If the care label says hand wash only, the fabric is probably too delicate for a long evening.
02
Straps that stay put
Straps slip for three reasons: they are too long, they are set too wide, or the fabric is smooth and the adjuster is cheap. Shorten the strap until it sits flat without digging in. If the set has removable straps, cross them at the back for a halter-style hold. A racerback clip costs little and fixes a surprising number of slipping straps. Check the adjusters before you wear the piece, not after. Check the stitching where the strap meets the cup, because that is where it usually gives.
03
The sit, reach and lie test
Put the piece on and sit on the floor, reach for something above your head, then lie on your back and roll to one side. Notice what moves: a waistband that rolls, a leg opening that cuts, a cup that gaps. These are the failures that show up in the first hour. Fix them with a different size or a different cut; do not plan to adjust all evening. Five minutes of testing saves the whole night. If a piece fails two of the three tests, return it rather than hoping.
04
Heat, friction and fabric
Warm rooms and movement make fabric behave differently. Satin slides, mesh breathes, lace can catch on itself. If you overheat, choose mesh over faux leather and skip the stockings. If you know the evening involves dancing or walking, choose a piece with a wide waistband and flat seams. A small amount of friction is normal; a seam that rubs is not, and it will not improve.
05
A small repair kit
Keep a spare strap, a safety pin and a needle with matching thread in a drawer. A strap that lets go can be pinned until morning; a loose hook can be squeezed closed with pliers. Check the hardware after each wear and replace anything bent. Lingerie lasts longer when it is repaired quickly, and a piece you trust to hold together is a piece you will actually wear. A tiny hook and eye in the same colour is worth keeping in the drawer.

Questions
Quick answers.
Which lingerie stays in place when you move?
Why do my straps keep slipping?+
Usually length or width. Shorten them and try a racerback clip.
Is mesh better than lace for movement?+
Generally yes. It stretches and returns without catching.
How do I stop a bodysuit riding up?+
Check the torso length first, then the base closure.
