The edit

How to choose hosiery.

Hosiery is sized by height and weight as much as by shoe size. A sheer stocking should sit close without pulling at the toe. Denier tells you the weight: lower numbers are more sheer, higher numbers are more opaque.

  • Put hosiery on before jewellery and after moisturiser has dried.
  • Check the denier if you want a sheer or opaque finish.
  • Wash in a separate mesh bag, never with hooks or zips.

Read the fit guide, the fabric guide, or the care guide.

Questions.

What does denier mean?

Denier is the weight of the yarn. A lower denier is sheerer and more delicate; a higher denier is more opaque and durable.

How do I stop a ladder?

A tiny drop of clear nail polish at the top of the run can hold it temporarily. Replace the pair if the run spreads.

Are stockings and tights the same?

Stockings stop at the thigh and need a suspender belt or garter. Tights cover the leg and waist.
