The adult premise
Set the scene as two adults who chose this: a meeting after hours, a review that goes off script, a late shift. Name the fiction out loud before you start, including who is in charge and how far it goes. Keep the characters clearly separate from your real relationship and from any real workplace. Nobody is reenacting a real colleague, and nobody is settling a real grievance. A premise borrowed from a real job will keep pulling you both out of the scene.

The outfit
The clothing does most of the visual work. A structured bodysuit and a skirt, a leather-look halter dress, dark stockings: pieces that read as formal but are not actual workwear. Keep it comfortable enough to move in. A blazer over the top can be removed slowly, which gives the scene a natural pace and an obvious first beat. Choose fabric that will not need adjusting every minute. Try the full outfit on once before the evening, including the shoes, and check that you can sit down.

The office set
You do not need a desk. A chair, a lamp and a closed door are enough. Clear the space, put the phone away and dim the overhead light. If you use a table, make sure it is stable. The suggestion of an office is stronger than a literal recreation, and it is easier to step out of afterwards. A few deliberate details beat a room full of props. If the room is shared, close the door and put a note on your phone so nobody walks in.

Authority and consent
The boss character can give direction, set rules and withhold approval, but only inside the agreed frame. Limits do not disappear because a character is in charge. Agree on a stop signal that works in character and out of it, and use it without breaking the fiction if you need to. Real consent sits above the role, and the role never gets to overrule it. A character who accepts a stop signal without argument is more convincing, not less.

Ending the shift
Agree a line or an action that closes the scene, such as a clock, a phrase or removing the blazer. Afterwards, change clothes and talk as yourselves. A short debrief about what worked keeps the fiction contained. If either of you found something uncomfortable, name it early rather than carrying it into the next day. The exit is part of the design. Take the costume off before you analyse the evening; it is hard to think clearly in character.
